2024 Hyundai Sonata Debuts with a refreshing look

2024 Hyundai Sonata – The eighth generation SONATA’s sportiest design ever was revealed by Hyundai Motor Company today along with a new badge for the midsize sedan. The 2019-released vintage SONATA undergoes more than a simple facelift; it is transformed into a dynamic, forward-thinking new model with low-slung, elegant proportions, more aggressive styling, and technology that is focused on the future. The new SONATA offers a novel perspective on the four-door coupe that perfectly embodies the ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design philosophy of Hyundai Motor.
Exterior design embodies ‘The Sportiness’
With an N Line-based exterior design that transmits sports coupe flair with a long hood, low front end, and fastback roofline, SONATA emphasises its distinctive image. With a horizontal front-end configuration that incorporates Hyundai’s iconic Seamless Horizon Lamp, hidden headlamps, a wide grille, and an air inlet for a more dynamic and aggressive appearance, the low-slung exterior of the SONATA epitomises progressive automotive design and epitomises “The Sportiness.” A dramatic lighting effect is produced by the Seamless Horizon Lamp and the wide-set, disguised headlamps, emphasising the vehicle’s wide stance and giving it a futuristic feel.

The contrast between angular, linear elements and smooth, flexible surfaces highlights the dynamic design. The lower black decoration of the frame rises back, giving the SONATA a powerful personality. The new H-lights at the back emphasize SONATA’s wide stance and high-tech appearance even more. The impression of a high-performance sports sedan is reinforced by the swooping spoiler-shaped trunk lid and muffler-shaped rear garnish on the standard model, while the addition of a rear spoiler, dual twin-tip mufflers, and exclusive 19-inch wheels on the N Line amplifies that impression even more.
The interior design implements a future mobility sensibility.
The interior of the new SONATA has a driver-centric design that complements its sportier exterior appearance and incorporates a future mobility sensibility with delicate high-tech details to support contemporary lifestyles. The 12.3-inch driver information clusters and 12.3-inch AVN infotainment system are combined in SONATA’s panoramic curved display for the first time in a Hyundai vehicle. This layout emphasizes the horizontal lines and increased sense of space. The instrument panel’s touch-screen climate control unit adds to the high-tech atmosphere.

The interior has undergone significant improvements for a better passenger experience, and tasteful interior colour schemes have been used to simultaneously enhance the feeling of sportiness and premium character. The interior “floating” theme of SONATA evokes a futuristic feeling. The centre console area is made larger by the use of a column-style shift-by-wire controller behind the steering wheel. The palm rest, which increases driver comfort by extending the armrest to lean up to the palm of the hand, further improves the centre console. The tray and large cup holder offer added convenience.
Redesigned sports sedan will be released soon.
The new SONATA’s actual vehicle will be unveiled at the Seoul Mobility Show from March 30 to April 9, 2023.
