Acura Integra Type S revealed: Here’s what you need to know
Acura Integra Type S – The 2024 Acura Integra Type S offers a new interpretation of supreme street performance for a new generation of enthusiast drivers. The new turbocharged Acura Integra Type S lives up to Acura’s reputation of high-performance Integras and long history of Type S performance variations with a high-revving four-cylinder engine delivering a class-leading 3201 horsepower. A turbocharged 2.0-litre VTEC engine, a 6-speed manual transmission, a limited-slip differential, and an adaptive damper system with performance tuning are all included as standard equipment. Strong Brembo front brakes, lightweight 19-inch wheels, and high-performance summer tyres complete the sporty package.
Acura Integra Type S has a muscular stance on the exterior



The new Acura Integra Type S has wider (2.8 inches)and larger 19-inch wheels, 265/30 R19 tires, and boldly flared wide body fenders than the normal Integra, giving it a more muscular stance and commanding presence on the road. Integra Type S, which is distinctive from every perspective, is the only car in the premium performance compact market to provide a versatile 5-door liftback configuration. Each body panel on the Type S vehicle in front of the A-pillars is distinct.
A more comprehensive open-surface Diamond Pentagon grille dominates the new, more aggressive front fascia. It works with a new, vented aluminium hood to increase airflow by 170%, which cools the larger, considerably more potent turbocharged engine—further enhancing engine performance. A wider lower opening feeds air to the intercooler to enable higher boost pressure.
A revised rear bodywork reveals three sizable centre-mounted exhaust ports, a first for a Type S vehicle. The downforce is increased via a decklid spoiler and a new gloss black diffuser. On the front grille, each front fender, and the trunk lid are Type S insignia that help further identify this high-performance vehicle. The word “Integra” is stamped on the front and rear fascias once more, paying homage to the legendary third-generation car. The Acura Integra Type S’s driver-focused interior has four sitting positions, premium materials, and unique Type S high-performance accents. The body is held more securely during high-G cornering by heated front Sports seats with perforated Ultrasuede inserts and stiffer seat bolsters. The shifter knob, unique to the Type S and dark anodised and topped with a racy red shift pattern, is covered in perforated leather with coloured stitching. The high-performance theme is continued with a shift boot made of black Ultrasuede with coloured stitching. The shifter boot surround, the headrests of the front seats, and the steering wheel all sport Type S insignia.
The high-performance Integra Type S also includes class-leading standard technology, such as a 10.2-inch Acura Precision Cockpit Driver Information Interface, a 9-inch colour touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android AutoTM compatibility, wireless phone charging, and a head-up display for an elevated level of everyday comfort and refinement. A strong listening experience with studio-calibre sound is provided by a 16-speaker, 530-watt ELS STUDIO 3D premium audio system.
Integra Type S provides class-leading rear seat legroom for its two back seat occupants (37.4 five-door body style also gives it a distinct advantage in cargo capacity compared to its competitors, with 24.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind its 60/40 split rear seatbacks, which fold flat to significantly increase the available space to carry larger gear like a mountain bike or surfboards. Acura’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure, advanced driver and front passenger airbag technology designed to cradle the head and reduce the risk of brain injuries, especially in offset collisions, front knee airbags, rear outboard side impact airbags, and the AcuraWatch suite of safety and driver assistance technologies are all included as standard safety and driver assistance equipment.
Acura Integra Type S has high-performance chassis dynamics
Acura Integra Type S has a unique dual-axis front suspension system with noticeably wider front and back tracks than the normal Integra (+3.5 inches in the front and +1.9 inches in the rear) for maximum road holding and high-speed stability. The dual-axis system also significantly lowers torque steer due principally to a 0.75-inch reduction in the steering axis offset. The response is enhanced by a front stabiliser bar that is 29.0 mm thicker (+2 mm).

A powerful 2.0-litre DOHC turbocharged VTEC engine with direct injection, unique throttle tuning for rapid throttle response, and 33% more displacement than the Integra’s normal 1.5-litre engine powers the Integra Type S. With 320 horsepower (SAE net @ 6,500 rpm) and 310 lb.-ft. Of torque (SAE net @ 2,600 to 4,000 rpm), the Type S model offers class-leading power and a class-leading power-to-weight ratio of just 10.1 pounds per horsepower, up 120 horsepower and 118 lb.-ft.
