Audi Activesphere Concept: Here’s what you need to know

Audi Activesphere Concept

Audi activesphere concept – The fourth model in the line, represents the pinnacle of sphere concept cars developed by the company with the four rings. A four-door crossover coupé with an incredibly adaptable body design is now debuting, after the Audi skysphere roadster in 2021, the Audi grand sphere sedan, and the Audi urban sphere space concept in April 2022.

The extremely stylish vehicle, which measures 4.98 meters in length, is more than just a luxury sports car. Its exceptional ground clearance and big 22-inch wheels proclaim its off-road prowess. The active sphere’s Sportback rear can transform into an open cargo bed (the “active back”) with the push of a button, making it ideal for transporting recreational goods like e-bikes or equipment for water and winter sports.

The Audi active sphere concept is a member of the premium class, thanks to its proportions of 4.98 meters long, 2.07 meters wide, and 1.60 meters high. The wheelbase is a spacious 2.97 meters, which is typical for an electric vehicle and gives passengers the most legroom. The front and rear overhangs are proportionately short, giving the vehicle a significantly more compact appearance than the bare statistics suggest. The Audi active sphere concept looks monolithic from every angle as it is from a single mould.

The absence of a hard edge enables smooth transitions between convex and concave surfaces throughout the body, also for soft shadows. When viewed from the side and back, the rear wheel wells are noticeably horizontal, illustrating the concept car’s potential for dynamic movement. The Singleframe brand face, created as transparent glazing to give passengers an unhindered view through the big frunk of the road in front of the car, is featured on the front end of the active sphere.

The wide, curved tailgate features extensive glazing for optimum lighting, while even the roof itself is transparent, letting plenty of daylight into the interior. The active sphere marks the first time that a car with a Sportback hatchback incorporates design elements and technology. In contrast to allroad, Audi refers to the new body option as an “active Sportback” for this reason. Its rear area, in particular, symbolizes the active lifestyle of its clients and enables the transportation of even large sporting equipment—while maintaining the Sportback silhouette’s grace and sportiness.

Interior

The word “sphere” establishes the mood; Kilowatts, kilometres per hour, and lateral acceleration are no longer among the top design requirements for this new generation of automobiles. Instead, the interior, where the occupants live and experience their surroundings, serves as the beginning point. It relates to the inside of the Audi skysphere, grand sphere, urban sphere, and now active sphere. As travellers enter the Audi active sphere through the wide-open doors, they are immediately struck by how clear and orderly the inside is. Vertical and horizontal surfaces, as well as right angles, dominate the space’s construction.

There are horizontally contrasting colours in the internal zones, when viewed via the side windows, the warm lava-red seating surfaces, door, and front panelling stand out against the dark exterior. Above and below this central zone, dark colours (black, anthracite, and dark grey) also predominate. The dashboard functions like a big soundbar and a sleek, full-width air vent in both the deployed and folded position. The fully glazed Singleframe allows passengers an unhindered view of the road in front. The dashboard, steering wheel, and pedals vanish into an undetectable position when the Audi active sphere concept operates in autonomous mode.

The transparent top cover lets you see the bottle and glasses inside and visually ties the large console into the room. The four augmented reality (AR) headsets for the mixed reality system kept a console in the ceiling, directly above the centre console, and reflecting its dimensions so that they are all easily accessible to passengers.
