Cupra Urban Rebel : The Most Rebellious EV

Racing is at the centre point of CUPRA’s DNA; therefore, the corporation opted to present a vehicle which is primarily a racing car with an innovative and crisp design and should be 100% electric urban. 

The urban electric vehicle will make electromobility available to the public. The urban electric vehicle is not just our business, but the Volkswagen Group as well, because our goal is to build more than 500,000 urban electric cars for various Group brands in Martorell every year. The urban revolutionary concept of CUPRA is built on the design foundations that will premiere in 2025. It will be a 100 percent urban electric car. The road model will combine astounding design with incredible velocity and is based on the short MEB platform of the Volkswagen Group. 

It symbolises a transformation inside the brand in the process of achieving a more advanced design language while retaining the characteristics that define each CUPRA model: its unique sportsmanship and quality is helping cupra to stand apart from others.

Design

The CUPRA Urban Rebel Concept is based on the design philosophy of the CUPRA Brand. It is an expressive and real design which is characterised by striking and sporty lines. The vehicle is built around the gender neutral and electrically boosted approach.  

On the front, a concave surface was used to create the shark nose. The unique element is the triangular trademark in the headlights which additionally emphasises the front face. The graphic wrapper on the windows produces a helmet’s visual impression which we had also seen on CUPRA Tavascan concept. It also provides the impression of a rooftop which is floating through the windows surrounding the entire automobile. 

If you see on the side of the vehicle, the diagonally sculpted structures exhibit athletic proportions which is due to the wedge line from C pillar to the front. In a fresh version of the design seen in the CUPRA Formentor the rear perspective of the Urban Rebel concept showed athletic shoulders.

The rear displays a distinctive design language with horizontal proportions. On top of the above, it has an impressive crisp design which is emphasized by its rough surface which is a tribute to racing vehicles that are visible in the virtual world.

The CUPRA Urban Rebel Concept blends purity, sustainability, and performance with fascinating visual elements. It also offers an impression of the future design language that will be introduced by the firm in 2025 for the urban electric car. The concept was revealed at IAA Munich International Motor Show 2021.
