The rich history and captivating stories within the Mercedes-Benz museum's walls fueled the designer's fascination, resulting in his cell phone album overflowing with snapshots from this extraordinary space. Amidst the array of remarkable exhibits, the 1939 Mercedes-Benz T80 stood out as a testament to both ageless magnificence and the boundless possibilities of the future. This encounter ignited a spark within the designer, inspiring a vision of a future-oriented design for the iconic T80 upon his return to Korea.
Design:
In conceptualizing the future version of the Mercedes-Benz T80, the primary goal was to fuse simplicity with a dramatic presence akin to the allure of a unique lamp. The front of the vehicle introduces a revolutionary design with horizontal Daytime Running Lights (DRL), crafting a novel lamp shape that commands attention. Simultaneously, the car's rear boasts a substantial volume, seemingly flowing through the glass, creating an imposing silhouette. This incorporation of significant volume aims to infuse high-tech aesthetics into the vehicle's design. Resembling a protective dome, the car offers a sense of security to the driver, encapsulating an otherworldly experience reminiscent of being inside a UFO.
The distinctive feature of this concept is the dynamic volume of the car's rear wing, meticulously designed to harmonize with the body, further accentuating the vehicle's overall dynamism. In pursuing perfection for the T80's shape, Jaeoho perceives 'perfect' as an emotion transcending time, resonating with a diverse audience. Beyond being a mere automobile, the T80 is envisioned as a timeless companion, steadfast in preserving its identity throughout the decades, intricately woven into the fabric of people's lives and experiences.
