As part of the Master course, the Smart Roadster Concept started as a simple assignment but became a standout piece in a designer's portfolio. Inspired by the beloved Smart Roadster and incorporating ideas from the innovative Smart SUV concept, this project brought a fresh perspective to a classic car.

The Smart Roadster Concept stays true to the original Smart Roadster's essence. Its clean lines and sleek proportions honour the timeless design of the classic model. However, the addition of modern features inspired by the Smart SUV concept takes this new version to the next level. The iconic belt, a signature of the Smart brand, links the design to its heritage while also showing a step towards innovation.

The Personality of the Smart Roadster

The Smart Roadster Concept is more than just a good-looking car—it has a charm that feels like a loyal and spirited friend. Imagine a playful dog ready for an adventure; that's the kind of energy this car gives off, making you want to go on exciting drives. About Designer

Daria Butenko hails from Moscow, Russia, where she earned her first diploma in Art Design. Her journey to becoming a transportation designer began in 2017 when she attended a summer course at IED in Turin. This experience solidified her decision to pursue this career path, leading her to move to Turin, where she has lived for the past six years.

After completing her Master's degree in transportation design at the Istituto Europeo di Design Torino, Daria started working at Erre Company. For her thesis project, she joined the Alias team to develop a concept car in collaboration with Pagani Automobili, named Allisea. This project fulfilled her dream of presenting a full-size car, marking a significant milestone in her career in transportation design.
