Following the 45 concept in 2019 and the Prophecy concept in 2020, the SEVEN concept entered into a new era for the IONIQ brand. Users’ values are prioritized over industry boundaries in these unique design and technological developments. SEVEN also represents Hyundai’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2045.

SEVEN features an aerodynamically pure design that is clearly unique from that of a regular SUV. The low, leading edge of the hood, a single, streamlined roofline, and longer wheelbase indicate a clear shift from previous internal combustion engine-powered SUVs. SEVEN’s simple forms have a clean volume that contrasts with its strong stance and dominating, rough appearance. To reinforce SEVEN’s impressive road presence there are wheels with integrated Active Air Flaps that extend or retreat based on brake-cooling or low-drag.

Even in the dark of night, SEVEN is clearly recognizable by IONIQ’s iconic Parametric Pixel lights, which display a Welcome Light Sequence upon startup. Parametric Pixels function as a common design thread, connecting digital and analogue styles, and serve as a reminder that SEVEN’s designers studied every part of the design, right down to a single pixel.

SEVEN’s interior design focus is space innovation, which provides consumers with more freedom than ever before. The wheelbase of SEVEN exceeds 3.2 metres thanks to its design cue to push the wheels outward as far as possible to expand the wheelbase.

The flat floor allows Hyundai Motor to explore an alternative to the traditional row-based seat arrangements, creating a more fluid interior layout. The Pillarless Coach Doors offer a grand entrance to reveal a welcoming interior with a completely new dimension of space. The streamlined roofline, long wheelbase and flat floor that extends to the third row opens new opportunities to furnish the interior like a premium lounge.

SEVEN also represents Hyundai’s future ambition of self-driving vehicles. The driver’s seat has a foldable control stick that may be hidden when not in use. The super compact cockpit and integrated screens give a lounge-like experience without the need for traditional driver’s equipment. The seating configuration differs from that of standard SUVs, with swivelling lounge seats and a curving bench seat. This seat layout can be altered based on whether the vehicle is driven manually or autonomously.

HYUNDAI SEVEN

SEVEN provides adaptable space and a variety of in-car equipment that may be customised for different passengers. This human-centered approach enables SEVEN to imagine a future of mobility and connectivity while also setting the groundwork for future IONIQ models.

SEVEN has a Universal Island console, custom-designed household appliances, and a multi-functional Smart Hub graphic user interface. When the Smart Hub and front seats are combined with the rear chaise-lounge seating, SEVEN transforms into a space where customers can spend quality time alone or together in the glow of side-door ambient light. SEVEN’s built-in micro fridge delivers cool drink on the road, while shoe-care chambers clean passengers’ shoes.

The vision roof of the concept includes a panoramic screen that not only displays different information based on passengers’ preferences, but also modifies the general interior ambience to ensure optimum relaxation and pleasure during the voyage.

Hyundai Motor has prioritised the development of vehicles that provide a safe and healthy travel experience. SEVEN comprises a range of eco-friendly materials while providing industry-leading hygienic features such as the Hygiene Airflow System and UVC Sterilization.
