The design born from Pininfarina's aerodynamic studies and wind tunnel testing
Building on the vision presented at EICMA 2022, the APD Concept places a strong emphasis on aerodynamics. This focus not only defines the vehicle's design but also contributes to achieving optimal dynamic performance and range. Referred to as 'Sculpted By The Wind,' the final design, born from Pininfarina's aerodynamic studies and wind tunnel testing, showcases intricate surface interweaving and a vibrant colour palette, notably featuring a brilliant blue reminiscent of Vmoto's brand identity.
The scooter's styling emphasizes its horizontal development, accentuated by LED light accents and a truncated tail reminiscent of automotive Kammbacks. It nods to Pininfarina's historical design strategies, seamlessly blending aerodynamics and aesthetics.
The synergy of form and function
The synergy of form and function is evident in the APD Concept, where Pininfarina's design extends to a purpose-built bag placed on the rider's footrest tunnel. This accessory, made from materials mirroring the Pininfarina Saddlery used for the scooter's seat, enhances practicality and usability for everyday commuting while maintaining a modern and elegant design.
