NEXT 905 : Wang Cong

The original idea which is set to pay tribute to some classic cars as well as classic racing cars we all like. To reimagine the legends of their times in a new and futuristic context. As a part of that the “Next-905” is set to appear as it has been just recently completed. The 905 is a classic Le Mans car of Peugeot and a car that had won the championship in the early 1990’s. Since it had occurred so early in time it is easy to understand that not everyone would know much about this legendary vehicle, but what really captivates the eye of the beholder is the design of this beauty.

The 905 model looks like something which jumped right out of a science fiction movie. The design of the car has a 1/43 905evo which has a low, flat and compact body. It carries an exaggerated huge tail, which is an unprecedented proportion in a racing car. Also having been coupled with several color stripes on the side which has a strong motion and full recognition.

By recalling the original features and design 905, the project NEXT has created a more definitive and focusing on extracting and strengthening the essential features of the original design while rendering the color stripes into a three-dimensional model also adding a more exaggerated tail to it as well. This was done by creating a sketch depicting a general direction, and the rest of the work was done on the computer.

In terms of design, the wheel uses a spherical wheel with the same specification as the previous next- 330, which makes the shape more concise and eliminates the steering mechanism and suspension mechanism. The front wheels of the next-905 have spherical wheels inside which can be seen through the transparent cover, and the rear wheels are covered like the prototype, which make the rear half of the body more concise and smooth.

The front of the car refers to the feeling of some contemporary Le Mans cars. Of course, the most important design point is to further strengthen the distinctive coating and turn it into a three-dimensional theme throughout the whole vehicle. The whole feature is like the prototype car, which is inclined and dynamic, so that the whole car has a strong tendency to dive forward. The trim strips of each color are also used as the air outlet of the car, which is to combine the shape and function.

The interior is simply decorated with some shapes, hoping to make the cockpit feel like a science fiction aircraft console. The design of the IP part is inspired by the X-Wing fighter in Star Wars Keyshot is used for rendering. The final picturesque effect is a reference to what artists like. Leaving the colored tape pass through the car as an air flow, and then draw slender and beautiful arcs behind the car to form a bright and dynamic picture.
