Since the independence of the design team from Lynk&Co last year Pengxi and the design team are taking a bold step forward by questioning the very foundation of automobile design. Designers are always striving to create something new and unique. Instead of simply following established norms, they are challenging themselves to think outside the box and consider what a vehicle designed for contemporary times might look like if cars had not evolved over the past 100 or 200 years. This kind of forward-thinking approach is precisely what we need in today's world, where innovation and sustainability are becoming increasingly important. Zeekr OS 1.0 Prototype 01 - Off Road Mobility
The "Prototype 01-Off Road Mobility" by Pengxi is truly a revolutionary concept! Designed with the individual in mind, this prototype is all about enjoying exclusive fun. Zeekr OS 1.0 Prototype 02 - Public Transportation
Imagine a public transportation system where you never have to worry about your luggage hitting others or struggle to figure out when to get off. Prototype 02, designed by Pengxi Li, solves these problems. Prototype 02 is not just any ordinary vehicle. It represents a new era of transportation where user experience is the critical factor. This is not just a rational function but an irrational expression that reflects the perfect blend of aesthetics and practicality. With Prototype 02, a concept for Zeekr designers is all set to transform the public transportation experience and create a world where commuting is hassle-free and enjoyable.
Zeekr OS 1.0 Prototype 03 - A Flagship Business Car
As Pengxi Li embarked on designing the third prototype car for Zeekr, he knew he had to go above and beyond to showcase the brand's future. He understands that providing an unparalleled boarding and alighting experience is critical for a high-end business vehicle, so he decided to innovate on interior design. Drawing inspiration from Japanese vans, he incorporated flexible arms in the seat design to ensure maximum comfort and ease of use. The door design was also a crucial factor in the car's overall functionality, so he carefully considered how the doors would impact the interior theme.
Through his innovative approach, he came up with a solution that allows the seat to be moved slightly outside the door when opened, avoiding any inconvenience caused by the low body of the car. This attention to detail reflects Pengxi's commitment to creating an exceptional driving experience.
As a designer, Pengxi Li is not content with simply following convention. He seeks to push boundaries and explore new possibilities, even in the form of the exterior of a high-end business vehicle. Instead of relying on traditional shapes, he introduced some "unusual" aesthetics, which add a unique flair to the car and reflect the brand's vision for the future. By embracing simplicity and unique textures, he created a design that truly stands out.
Additionally, he carefully considered the practical needs of business travellers by ensuring ample storage space both at the front and rear of the car. The talented and driven Pengxi Li hails from China! Currently a 4th-semester student in Hochschule Pforzheim M.A.T.D., Pengxi is making waves in the design industry with his innovative and creative approach. Pengxi Li's journey from undergraduate studies to the new Design Studios has been inspiring. It is a testament to his unwavering passion for design and relentless pursuit of excellence. From Wuling to Zeekr and then to Chery's Frankfurt Design Center internship, he has left an indelible mark on global strategy. As a Chinese international student, he has helped pave the way for Chinese brands to make a name for themselves in Europe and America, which is a remarkable achievement.
Looking back on his journey, Pengxi cannot help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. He knows that his hard work and dedication have paid off and significantly contributed to the design world. His support from the Zeekr Sweden team as the first exterior design intern was invaluable, and he will forever be grateful for that.
That's why Pengxi dedicated his project to the humane design studio and city that has given him so much. After months of exploration and experimentation, he found his inspiration in the design studio's CMF and incorporated all three variations into the black and gold-themed building. The result is a stunning tribute to the city and the studio that has played an essential role in his journey as a designer. He is now amid a 3-month internship at Chery Design Europe, where he is undoubtedly gaining invaluable experience and expanding his horizons. We can't wait to see what he will achieve in the future!
