Mercedes Benz Vision INNOCENT is a fully autonomous vehicle and has two different modes, which are the normal version and the AMG version.

Introduction

Vision INNOCENT aims to provide people with a new driving experience. Ever since the automotive design trends have been changed so fast, the importance of how it approaches the people has been issued, and this is an important part that designers and students must think about and prepare for it. So, in this project, YongChang suggests two ideas for it.

The first one is that this can be defined as a moving nature. Since electric vehicles do not need space for engines like internal combustion engine cars, at the beginning of the process, it was the starting point for the project from what could replace the space because engines were no longer needed in the electric vehicle era. And the idea that is that it would be good to replace the engine space with the increasingly destroyed nature.

The second one is that Parking lot is also one of the problems we need to solve in the future, especially in large cities due to the continuous development of cities and the increase in population. So, the second idea is a two-in-one idea. There is micro-mobility in one large car, and it will help people conveniently move in small spaces within very complex cities.

Design

In terms of the exterior design, from the top view, you can enjoy nature on the outside along with Mercedes-Benz's logo in the center, and there are additional seats and tables inside when the trunk space is opened. Also, the ambient light surrounding with the space, it will give people peace of mind and help them heal there. As cities continue to develop, it is becoming increasingly difficult for humans to coexist with nature. However, the nature becomes a resting place for humans and is an inevitable element in our lives.

As a result, YC thinks that people can be with nature whenever they want, and their lifestyle can also change in a new direction. Vision INNOCENT has also an AMG version, which combines passionate red and slightly dark colors to change the vehicle's atmosphere in the color and trim area, and AMG is mainly intended to give the driver's driving advantage, so the driving driver's seat takes its place instead of the nature located at the top. 

Overall, Mercedes Benz Vision INNOCENT has the vision to answer in preparation for the ever-developing electric vehicle era and will also present people with a new lifestyle direction. 

About Designer

YongChang Lee is a South Korean designer who recently completed his BA in Automotive Design from Coventry University this year. And now he is currently looking for a design internship. He has an internship experience at SAIC MG London Advanced Design Studio. Also, he used to work and join the exterior design team for the preparation of the 2022 CES SHOW with Hyundai Motors at an automotive design company.
