The Royal Enfield is the automaker that makes its riders feel as if they are really royalty in themselves. From the aspects of design to performance, RE has always delivered for their riders, fueling the passion by innovating them while still maintaining the uniqueness that has been embedded in their bikes for the past years. The newest design and innovation of the RE has been brought into the light and judging from the looks of it we can evidently see that RE has still managed to keep the retroistic quality but also integrating a futuristic style towards it as well.
The Royal Enfield Shooting Star is a bobber concept that is based on the RE Meteor 350 inspiring from its retro style while creating a futuristic modern vehicle by magnifying the tech and mechanical aspects of the bike yet still being pure and elegant. Sparking a general sense of the Hub design, mostly it appears to be bulky and complicated in appearance and not just from the visual sense but also from the perspective of its mechanism of it. In the Shooting Star, the design gives off an easier to perceive design. The hub gives off a more elegant design while impacting the whole effect of the bike to be elevated. Considering the steering rods they are finished in carbon fiber while the linkages are highlighted in an aluminum finish. The steering mechanism is connected to the Headlamp rotation as well, making it move during the steering which gives off a smoother riding experience and as an added aspect the line of the overall bike gives off a classic charm while encapsulating the bobber silhouette of the vehicle.
While keeping the fuel tank identical to the stock because it has a primary character element of being a Royal Enfield. Carbon fiber finish gives a modern touch to it while having a single saddle and seat cowl to complete the bobber image. The rear swingarm and hidden mono-shock enhance the presence and give a hardtail feel to the vehicle while also maintaining the dual perimeter discs along with the wheels which are made out of solid carbon give off a solid and planted look to the whole of it.
Furthermore, the handlebars are swept back and finished in chrome with minimal switches and an integrated disc fluid reservoir. Customized along with inverted levers with integrated turn signal lamps adding to the custom feel of the bike. Headlamp and Taillamp DRLs are exposed with the Headlamp being pivoted on the chassis while Tail Lamp is mounted on the swingarm. The tiny rear turn signal lamps are housed under the saddle. Also sporting some interesting elements such as Air filter which is enclosed in the side cover, exposed dry clutch, carbon rear sprocket, golden trim on drive pulley, and clutch. Also has an Aluminium + tubular subframe, machined footpegs, motogadget inspired speedometer, and subtle branding.
The whole new design of this concept was done by the Indian Designer, Akhilesh Manchandani who is an auto enthusiast and a motorcycle designer at TVS Motors, India. He completed his master’s in Transportation Design from the MIT Institute of Design. The new concept of this RE has given off the looks to be a proud one on the roads and is giving a new line of futuristic designs to be seen in the future as well.
