Toyota Aygo X : Touch of Spice
Everybody deserves a cool car. When I look at the Toyota Aygo X prologue, I’m really proud to say that ED² Team created exactly that. I’m excited to see it revolutionizing the segment.

The all-new Toyota Aygo X is a crossover that is unlike anything else in the A-segment, developed and built in Europe to fulfil the needs of urban and suburban living. Toyota conducted extensive research into urban driving requirements across the continent, listening to customers’ desires for a sleek, compact, and confident automobile, in order to make the all-new Aygo X the greatest product offering in the segment.

A genuinely fantastic A-segment car must stand out by being compact and agile, whether in the city or on the open road, in order to transmit confidence to the driver. It must also evoke and express emotion while incorporating the most cutting-edge technical breakthroughs into a small, cost-effective container. All of this and more is available in the all-new Aygo X, which offers everything European customers want in an A-segment car.
Design

Toyota’s designers intended to introduce a sense of daring and spice to tiny car purchasers in Europe, starting with the Aygo X prologue concept car built at Toyota European Design and Development (ED2) in Nice, France.

Since its introduction in 2005, the Aygo has not only been Toyota’s most accessible car in Europe, but it has also pleased buyers with its youthful and joyful personality. Toyota has acquired a slew of new style-conscious European shoppers because to these attributes.

New Toyota buyers want flair, individuality, and the ability to make an unique statement now more than ever. ED2 set out to construct a concept car particularly for them, based on the A-leading segment’s style symbol.

The Aygo X project was transferred to Styling at Toyota Motor Europe in Belgium after the successful reveal and positive reception of the eye-catching “Sparkling Chilli Red” Aygo X prologue. The design teams worked closely with product planning and R&D to turn the new A-segment car from concept to reality. The Aygo X’s powerful bi-tone design, along with the new spice color concept, offers a unique graphic profile that catches the eye by emphasizing the new model’s eagerness to take action.

The redesigned wedged roofline adds to the dynamic vibe for a more sporty look. High-tech lighting embrace the upper hood to form a wing-like shape in the front, while the big grille, fog lamps, and skid plate lower to the ground all build on the Aygo’s identity’s double trapezoid theme, giving it a “ready to go, anyplace” attitude.
The new colour concept was inspired by a variety of spices to create a one-of-a-kind range of colors for the Aygo X, each embodying the car’s flavours and personalities.

Cardamom conjures an impression of style and elegance, delivering a refined and understated aesthetics with the green’s low saturation effect.

Chilli is a fiery and premium color that catches the eye of passers-by with a warm and deep color reflection thanks to the inclusion of a fine sprinkling of blue metallic flakes in the red paint.

Ginger is a sophisticated and enduring beige which hints at a spirit of adventure and warm complexity in its hue.

Juniper is youthful with a touch of masculinity and is a blue created specifically for the model to give it an icy coolness while adding subtle reddish undertones.
The bold spice colors contrast sharply with the bi-tone black roof and rear, making the Aygo X stand out and be recognized right away.

There’s more to this spice theme than meets the eye. The dashboard and center consoles, for example, have interior highlights that match the external spice colors to give the cockpit a unique look. When you look closely at the seats, you’ll notice the “X” symbol embroidered right into the cloth. To offer a powerful and cohesive identity, the Aygo X model name is delicately reflected in the keen look headlamps.
For the first six months of sales, a hotter Limited edition Aygo X in Cardamom will be available, with additional matte Mandarina accents in orange throughout the car, as well as accent stripes on the outside and on the special 18″ matte black alloy wheels. The Mandarina theme extends to the interior panels and seat fabric design.

The Aygo X is an automobile that can express itself even when it is still.
In addition to its aggressive appearance and spicy color scheme, the Aygo X’s 40 percent tire-to-body ratio, as befits a crossover model, offers it a sturdy, go-anywhere attitude. Interior noise levels have been lowered thanks to the comprehensive usage and optimization of sound insulating materials, resulting in a quieter cabin with a 6 percent improvement in the Articulation Index, placing it among the best in the segment.

Toyota and JBL cooperated to create a premium audio system with a sound profile matched to the Aygo X’s attributes. The audio system includes a four-speaker setup, a 300W amplifier, and a big 200mm subwoofer in the trunk that delivers powerful bass, dynamic speaker response, and a clear and wide sound stage. With the Aygo X’s optional retractable canvas top, which is a first for an A-segment crossover, the sky’s the limit. The new canvas top is meant to enhance the driving experience by enlarging the opening by 40mm and increasing the viewing angle by 20%.

The canvas top is made of high-quality fabrics that are often found on luxury models, and it provides better water and dust protection. For added peace of mind, the redesigned wind deflector structure improves durability and strength.
Every motorist is promised emotions, whether they are standing motionless, enjoying the silence, or feeling the breeze in their hair.
