Every angle tells a story in the Kia Shooting Brake

In the world of car design, every curve and angle tells a story of creativity and skill. Throughout the design process, the design student explored three different directions, guided by the idea of blending opposites.

In the direction A the student transformed the shooting brake into a relaxing sanctuary. By redesigning the rear tailgate, he made a space where luxury and function met seamlessly. This bold move showed his dedication to innovation.

This design approach focuses on creating a smooth transition from the rear to the front, enhancing both the vehicle’s appearance and passengers’ comfort. By incorporating larger cabins, Kia ensures each journey is both thrilling and comfortable. Additionally, the inclusion of a large outline adds versatility and usability to the concept.

In Direction B, the designer expanded the Kia’s signature design identity, the ‘Starmap,’ to new levels. By extending this theme to the entire side body and integrating elements from the front and rear lights, he creates a unified and captivating look. The flowing profile line and boxy rear outline hint at a new era of shooting brakes, where sophistication meets versatility.

Furthermore, the designer introduced a groundbreaking concept: the convergence of two masses. This innovative approach entails uniting disparate masses to form a natural triangular shape, offering a fresh perspective in the world of shooting brakes and catering to a diverse range of user experiences.

Additionally, he emphasises a more boxy rear outline, accentuating the functionality of the pickup trunk and offering users a versatile array of experiences. Moreover, designer’s attention to detail extends to the wheels, where geometric patterns reflect the brand’s identity, ensuring cohesion with Kia’s overarching vision and values.

Conclusion

It showcases Kia’s dedication to pushing boundaries and creating exceptional vehicles. So, when you see a Kia shooting brake speeding by, take a moment to appreciate the innovation behind it.
